1.) Why to you like photography?
I like photography because the everyday practice of it allows me the chance to provide people with unique views of life that they never would have had the concept of before. Having clients then fall in love with it makes it even more gratifying. Photography for me is a selfless act. The recognition is one thing, but serving others with lifelong memories and exceeding their expectations is why I love what I do.
2.) What is your favorite type of photography?
My favorite type of photography is action/sports photography. Also, anything involving wild animals of Southern Louisiana. I enjoy the intensity of high impact sports and having that intensity merge into the needed moment to capture great art. I also am at peace when I am outdoors. The animal sees me, but isn’t scared. We form a trust as I watch and capture its individuality amongst its habitat. I somehow escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life when capturing animals on camera, I love that. I also fall more and more in love with newborn photography daily. I have no portfolio examples o this yet, but as soon as I obtain the trusting clientele that will allow me to do so, I will not disappoint. I have many ideas.
3.) Share a funny story about your photography…
I also work for a small newspaper in my town, which everyone in the newsroom now calls me “gatorazzi” instead of “poparazzi” due to the fact I find someway to always have a picture of a large alligator by the end of each work day. What a fabulous creature! I don’t mind the name Image may be NSFW.

4.) Share a photography trick or tip…
One photography trick I always use in low light situations is to not only hike the ISO up a few notches, but also operate on my cameras “no flash setting”. When doing this, I find the camera takes in as much natural light as possible, making for a real “glow” type of photograph.

5.) Why do you love SmugMug and/or jR Customization?
I love smug mug and JR Customization because they both give me a platform to operate my goals of a photography business that include many customizable options for an affordable price. The functionality of my new website is easy to maneuver while say the same time displaying a professional look. I also loved the communication, it didn’t take forever for a response to a question or presentation of an idea. This is important.
6.) What is your major goal or photography project for 2013?
My goal for 2013 from the beginning was to start putting myself more out there in the public eye with my photography as well as to start making a substantial supplementary income from my work. I work for my local newspaper, so my photo journalistic background has come to my advantage with the formation f my new business. I have also won a first and second place award in the Louisiana Press Associations better newspapers of the south’s competition in 2012. I am taking what I learn from news and combining it to my style of art, especially for things like weddings that are meant to tell a story, hence like we say in news “photo story.”
